Draw Off #16: Gainax

My friends Kalia Cheng and Matt Bordenave like to participate in these drawing challenges dubbed the Draw Offs, where the resulting artwork must relate to a theme chosen for that particular Draw Off. This is my first time participating in the challenge.

The theme this time around is Gainax, chosen by yours truly. For my submission, we have Nia Teppelin from “Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann,” an anime series that I haven’t seen, but find inspirational with its character designs and talented fan following. Originally, I wanted to post this drawing up after I had completed the background (yes, there’s a background that goes with this) and the coloring of, but to be honest, I’ve lost interest in it. And by that, I mean for completing it by this Wednesday’s deadline. I know, I suck. But we’ll get to seeing a completed version of this someday.
