The woes continue, but I’m still standing

  • by

Running late again because I’m still feeling under the weather. If it weren’t for the support of my roommate Kalia Cheng and a few of my co-workers, I’d probably be going crazy by now. I’m so lucky to have these people in my life. Here’s a quick sketch of Filia from Skullgirls by Alex Ahad. I’ll get to updating the season finales party entry later.

“The Cleveland Show” and “Family Guy” season finales screening

Running late on this one, so I’ll keep this short for now. Celebrated the season finales of “Family Guy” and “The Cleveland Show” with a few of my co-workers over at “Family Guy” producer Shannon Smith’s house. I’ll update this with a better description and photos by Thursday’s post. Stay tuned!

Turkish Delights VI – The Veil Dance

Every now and then, a group of models called the Gallery Girls hold a late night drawing salon called Turkish Delights, where artists can draw, eat, drink, and be merry in an Ottoman Empire-inspired setting. The latest Turkish Delights, The Veil Dance, occurred on Friday, May 11, from 9 PM to 2 AM at the Syrup Loft in the Fashion District of Downtown LA. Photography was not allowed unless you… Read More »Turkish Delights VI – The Veil Dance

Figure drawings from Turkish Delights VI – The Veil Dance

Went to Turkish Delights VI – The Veil Dance on Friday night. I’ll talk about the event in more detail on Thursday. In the meantime, here are my sketches from that night in the order that I drew them. The first was done on 9″ X 12″ sketch paper, while the rest were done on 18″ X 24″ newsprint, all with a Conté a Paris Pierre Noire HB pencil. Poses… Read More »Figure drawings from Turkish Delights VI – The Veil Dance

Special Saturday update: “American Dad” renewed, thanks to the power of the altar!

  • by

After what seemed like an eternity of agonizing suspense, the “American Dad” crew, along with their friends on “Family Guy” and “The Cleveland Show,” were relieved to hear of the renewal of the series for the 2013-2014 television season. The news was a long time coming, so long that people were beginning to worry that the jig was up for the second animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, as well… Read More »Special Saturday update: “American Dad” renewed, thanks to the power of the altar!

Woe is me, and a Photoshop sketch

  • by

Been feeling under the weather lately. My boyfriend of two weeks broke up with me last weekend. I know that’s a very short time to be seeing someone, but I was crazy about him. Even a few of my co-workers could easily see that whenever they’d ask me how my dates with him went. “Awwwww, you’re blushing!” someone would say, and all I could do was manage a “I just…I… Read More »Woe is me, and a Photoshop sketch

On Drink and Draw and my own insecurities as an artist

There was a lot of drawing, but not much drinking on my part, to be had at Drink and Draw last Friday night on May 4. Considering what I’m about to explain in this post, I probably should have downed way more than just one measly glass of Newcastle Brown Ale that night. If anyone needed it more, I’m very sure it had to be me. My friend Nico Colaleo… Read More »On Drink and Draw and my own insecurities as an artist

My night at the “Motorcity” premiere party

On the eve of Monday, April 30, my friends at Titmouse made animation history with the premiere of “Motorcity” on Disney XD. And what better way to celebrate this achievement than to have a premiere party at Cinespace in Hollywood? Before I get into that, though, here’s the basic story of the series for those not in the know: In the future, evil tycoon Abraham Kane has taken over Detroit… Read More »My night at the “Motorcity” premiere party

A chat with Chris Prynoski at the “Metalocalypse” season 4 premiere party

As some of you know, “Metalocalypse” is practically my favorite show on TV. I’ve actually done fanart for it in the past – just watch out, though, it’s pretty gay. So it was like a dream come true being able to go to the Season 4 premiere party at Edendale in Silver Lake last night. I didn’t stick around until the end, however, due to it being a Sunday night… Read More »A chat with Chris Prynoski at the “Metalocalypse” season 4 premiere party

Jumping on the “Motorcity” fanart bandwagon

Saw “Motorcity” for the first time two nights ago. I have to admit I don’t understand the story very much, but man, is it beautiful to look at! A lot of my friends at Titmouse have been churning out fanart for the series, and it has inspired me to do one of my own. Of course, I couldn’t resist turning it into a “Family Guy” thing, with Lois as Julie.… Read More »Jumping on the “Motorcity” fanart bandwagon
